The role of electric vehicles for the climate
We strive for an urban environment with less noise and cleaner air. That is why our fleet consists exclusively of fully electric vehicles. It is well-documented that electric cars have a lower climate impact than fossil-fueled cars; an electric motor is significantly more energy-efficient than an internal combustion engine.
For every fossil-fueled car we replace with a plug-in vehicle, we contribute to lowering Sweden's total emissions. The climate benefit of an electric car is largely determined by how the electricity is produced. Therefore, we use 100% renewable electricity, of which at least half is labeled with "Bra Miljöval". Together, we work toward the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation's goal of a fully renewable electricity system in Sweden by 2030.
Mobility is part of the solution
Sustainability is not just about the fuel, but about changing our behavior regarding mobility. We want to create solutions that make it easy to choose public transport, cycling, or walking over a private car—and to choose the bike for short distances.
For the sake of the environment, we need to reduce the total number of cars on the roads. That is why we offer more than just car sharing; we provide sustainable vehicle pools that include e-bikes and cargo bikes to enable a flexible and eco-friendly everyday life.
Vehicle pools labeled with Bra Miljöval
OurGreenCar's vehicle pools carry the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation's environmental label, "Bra Miljöval" (Good Environmental Choice). This gives you, as a user, the confidence that you are making one of the best choices available on the market for the environment.
The Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (Naturskyddsföreningen) sets very high standards for certified passenger transport. All electricity must be renewable (from sources such as wind, water, solar, or biomass), and at least 50% must be labeled with "Bra Miljöval". In addition to the requirements for vehicles and fuel, OurGreenCar only uses eco-labeled cleaning products when maintaining the vehicles. These strict criteria make "Bra Miljöval" one of the world's toughest environmental labels.
