  • For charging at the vehicle’s home location and public stations, use the Type 2 connector, the charging cable belonging to the car at its base station.

  • For fast charging at public stations, use the CCS connector, which is provided at the station.

Charging

You can charge your booked car freely at its home station throughout your booking.
If you need to charge the car during your trip, you can use the car’s navigation system to locate public charging stations.
To do this, open the map in the navigation system and enter your destination — the car will automatically display charging stations along your route.
You are responsible for any charging costs outside your home station.

In addition to the built-in navigation system, there are many useful apps and websites showing available charging stations, such as A Better Route Planner and Charge Finder (none of these are affiliated with OurGreenCar).

The connectors used for charging Volkswagen ID models are CCS and Type 2.

How Do I Disconnect the Charging Cable?

When you activate your booking, the charging cable unlocks automatically.
If the cable cannot be removed after activation, take out the car key from the glove compartment and press the unlock button (with an open padlock symbol).

How Do I Lock and Unlock the Car?

In the glove compartment, you’ll find a traditional car key attached to a key holder (note: the key must be placed back in the same way when ending your booking).
The key functions like a regular car key and is used to lock and unlock the car during temporary stops within your booking.

How Do I Start the Car?

Sit in the driver’s seat and press the brake pedal — the car will start automatically.
You can also manually start or turn off the car by pressing the Start/Stop Engine button located on the right side of the steering column.

Select Drive Mode

Behind the steering wheel, on the right side, there is a rotary switch used to select your drive mode.

• P – Park

• N – Neutral

• R – Reverse

• D – Drive

Press the button at the end of the switch to engage Park.
Always press the brake pedal when changing drive modes.

How Do I Turn Off the Car?

Make sure the car is in Park, then simply exit the vehicle.
Don’t forget the car key during temporary stops!
